In recent years there has been this push in America for the government to regulate the use of firearms, whether they be handguns, shotguns, rifles, semi or automatic.
However, this attack on gun owners by the government is a direct attack not just on the owners, or the 2nd Amendment, but also the 4th Amendment, which protects us from unlawful search and seizures of private property.
Our Founding Fathers felt it important that every citizen be armed, as it was an armed citizenry that helped lead us to victory in the first place, so they included the 2nd Amendment as well as the 4th.
The Second Amendment states that we as citizens have the right to keep and bear arms, and that an attempt by the government to take away a private citizens weapons would be a breach of power by the government.
But a gun is also private property, as it is the property of the individual citizen. So not only would the 2nd Amendment be breached, but the 4th as well.
It is important for citizens to carry guns in order to protect their property. Without this protection, someone could come in and completely devastate a household. If the police could get there in ten seconds or less, then maybe ordinary citizens would not have to carry weapons.
But weapons grabs are only the beginnig of this whole issue. Legislation banning the sale of a gun, and regulations saying how and when to operate a gun go along with the plan to end gun ownership. How much sense does it make to take guns away from law abiding citizens just to hand them over to the criminals? In essence, this is what is being done.
And despite popular belief, guns do not kill people. To say that would be like saying Pencils and pens cause spelling errors. It is people who kill people.
